Nutrition
Although I wouldn’t say our family is truly Vegan, we have been no-dairy, no-egg vegetarians for almost a year now (I call us Vegan-Wannabe’s). Our journey into semi-veganism started as a nutrition and health decision. We want the best for our kids and after reading a lot about health and nutrition, Allain and I decided to remove meat and most animal product from our families diet.
I’ve never been much of a meat eater anyway (raw meat gives me the heebee-jeebees), so quitting it has been pretty easy. The no dairy thing, on the other hand, has proved more difficult. It was easy enough to research and read labels to remove it from our home, but eating out, dinning with friends, and holidays with family, are things we’re still learning to navigate.
Both our families have been pretty supportive of our decision (even if they don’t really agree with it!). They respect our choice and do their best, especially with the kids. Allain and I truly appreciate their support. It would be a lot more difficult to do this without it!
